600 Youth Rush Florida Movie Theatre


A fight in the movie theater parking lot at the River City Marketplace led to five arrests.

Police arrested Tevyn Davis, 19; Jaquade Miller, 18; and Khalil Bradley, 17. The names of the other two suspects are being withheld due to their ages.

Investigators say this began when a group of teenagers tried to barge into the Hollywood River City 14 Theater without paying on Christmas night.

An estimated crowd of 600 people started to gather in the parking lot.

JSO spokeswoman Lauri-Ellen Smith told Action News an off-duty officer tried to subdue the crowd by using pepper spray and a melee erupted. The off-duty officer then called for backup and 30 officers responded to the scene.

JSO reports there is vehicle damage, but no injuries.

Davis faces misdemeanor charges of resisting an officer and breach of the peace.

Miller faces misdemeanor charges of affray and resisting an officer.

Bradley faces a felony charge of resisting an officer, a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct and refusal to disperse.

A female juvenile faces charges of public nuisance, refusal to disperse and resisting an officer.

The male juvenile faces a charge of resisting an officer.

Action News spoke with the manager of a nearby pizza parlor who said he had to lock his doors to keep people out.

Police set up a safe zone for parents to come pick up their children.
