A retired Army colonel was honored Friday for his years of dedication. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at an Ozark Army hangar.
The new hangar is dedicated to 87-year-old retired Lt. Colonel William Howell.
For three years, Howell flew the helicopter for President Dwight D. Eisenhower. That was before the days of Air Force One.
Lt. Howell said, “I am honored that I didn't deserve. I didn't expect this honor, but it's the greatest thing that ever happened to me.”
The hangar is placed on city property and is a welcomed addition to the Ozark community.
