Holiday Driving

State troopers say at least 17 people died on Alabama roads during the Christmas holiday travel period.

Friday a 75-year-old driver died near Anniston when another car ran a traffic light.

In Talladega County Friday a 33-year-old driver was killed when her car ran off the road.

And a 35-year-old man died when his car left the road outside Greenville.

In the Wiregrass, a Christmas Eve accident in Geneva County claimed the life of 17-year-old Jay Jones.

Troopers say the car he was driving ran off county road 65, about five miles north of Geneva, struck a tree and overturned.
