A place that's sure to become an event hotspot is now open in the Wiregrass.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Monday to mark the opening of the new Activities Barn at Landmark Park.
Plans to complete the Activities Barn have been in the works for many years.
Thanks to a long list of donors, including the lead gift from Dr. Steve Stokes and his wife, Angela, the project is now complete.
Stokes believes this new Activities Barn will be very useful for many types of events in the tri-state area.
“This will make a unique location for church groups, business groups to come and have events. The children can come to be entertained, while the adults can have their events. I just think it'll be a unique place. There's no place in Georgia, Florida, or Alabama that will compare to this,” said Dr. Stokes.
A major corporation is making a donation to complete the payment of the new barn.
The surprise announcement will be made Monday night at a banquet honoring the grand opening of the activity barn and the 30th anniversary of Landmark Park.
