The city of Dothan will hold a public involvement meeting in an hour to discuss a new proposed solid waste ordinance.
Some big changes Dothan residents will notice in the proposed ordinance leaves will only be picked up once a month more frequently if possible.
The city will not pick up building materials like lumber, bricks and carpet.
With the new ordinance, trash containers must put away out of sight, except on trash day between 6 am and 9pm.
The city of Dothan recently went to an automated garbage system.
They thought this would be a good time to change their solid waste ordinance.
“It’s an opportune time we have new equipment new technology and now it's a new schedule,” said Jerry Corbin of Dothan Public Works.
The meeting will be held in the Dothan Opera House on North Saint Andrews Street at 6:00 Tuesday night.
