A Wiregrass organization is donating money to help local children in need.
The Dothan Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors presented a check to the Wiregrass Children's Home.
The group raised $2,885 dollars.
The Wiregrass Children's Home offers shelter, food and supervision to children removed from their homes by the courts.
The donation will help the program continue to operate.
Wiregrass Children's Home Board member Mike Schmitz said, “We struggle to make budget each year and we couldn’t make it without this donation.”
The Wiregrass Children's Home receives only 17-percent of its funding from state and federal grants.
They rely on private donations for the other 83-percent.
