Lucky to be Alive after Morning Fire

A mother and her infant child are lucky to be alive after their home caught fire Thursday morning.

Dothan firefighters responded to the call at this house on Jerome Street around 9 o'clock.

The fire completely gutted the back of the house, and severely damaged the front.

It took firefighters about 40-minutes to put out the flames.

Before firefighters arrived on the scene, the mother and child had already been taken to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
