A long-time public servant was officially sworn into office again Wednesday.
Robert Byrd has been since 1987.
His wife Toni joined him as he took the oath Wednesday afternoon from presiding Circuit Judge Lawson Little.
Byrd is beginning his fifth term in office.
He says he's hoping a state crime lab that was closed in Dothan will be re-opened.
But he says, right now, state officials tell him they just don't have the money.
Byrd says the facility is badly needed to help eliminate a back-log of cases and long delays in getting test results in homicide investigations.
