Holiday Sales Down

Many retailers across the country saw a downturn in sales during the holidays.

Chains are reporting sales weren't so great in December; partly because the weather was unseasonable hot.

Winter clothes did not sell very well.

According to one analyst, stores took a hit after they marked down prices to attract customers.

Wal-mart and Target said December sales rose less than a year earlier, while sales at Macys and Bloomingdales fell short of estimates.
