A Wiregrass farmer is getting back to work after being put out of it for days because of vandalism.

Around 19,000 dollars worth of damage was done to a farm on County Road 71 in Shorterville in Henry County, east of Abbeville.

Henry County authorities say someone took a tractor Thursday morning and plowed through a corn field.

Both the field and the tractor were damaged.

Billy Barnes says he has never had anything like this happen to him before.

“I have been here for 59 years, hits me a little hard. I don't think that I got no enemies up and down the road but I picked one up somewhere,” said Barnes.

Authorities say a man has confessed to the incident.

His name has not been released.
