Brooks Peanut Plant

A new shelling plant under construction in Geneva County will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.

Barrett Brooks' grandfather started Brooks Peanut Company back in the late 1940's. The Samson company will soon open it's multi-million dollar shelling plant. It will be the most modern facility of its kind in the country.

The plant will turn out shelled peanuts which can be used in most candy bars.

The plant is expected to be in operation by December 1st and will create dozens of new jobs.

The Brooks family credits the state legislators from the Wiregrass for getting an important tax incentive approved for the new shelling plant.
