A man our WTVY viewers have grown accustomed to seeing, anytime disaster strikes in our area is officially hanging up his hat.
After 10 years as director of Houston County’s Emergency Management Agency Shelby Womack has decided to retire.
Before his current position, Womack served as the Fire Marshall of Dothan’s fire department.
Womack says he's going to take it easy.
“I don't have any plans, I don't know what we're going to do in the next year or so...but whatever it is I look forward to it,” said Womack,
Womack says not to be surprised if you catch him in the EMA office if a disaster hits.
Steve Carlisle is taking the position formerly held by Clark Matthews, whose taking the helm at the new director.
