A Walk to Remember

A walk was held in Dothan this weekend, aiming to inform others about the disease that robs many elderly of their memories.

Several hundred people gathered at Westgate Park to take part in this year's "Walk To Remember" focusing on Alzheimer's disease.

The Alzheimer's Resource Center sponsored the fundraiser with proceeds going toward support services for families and caregivers.

Studies show that one in ten Alabamians over age 65 have Alzheimer's. And by age 85, one in two will have the disease.
