FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Flagler Beach authorities say a police officer was among 21 men arrested in an operation to catch people searching the Internet to meet children for sex.
The weekend sting at a rented Flagler Beach home was videotaped
as part of a "Dateline NBC" series. The "To Catch a Predator" episode is scheduled to air in March.
Police say 41-year-old Todd Spikes, an officer from Florala, Alabama, who said he lives in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, came to the house to meet a person he thought was a young girl.
Reports say he drove up to the house, but pulled away without getting out of his car.
Spikes and 20 other men were arrested on charges including attempted lewd and lascivious conduct and computer pornography.
A telephone listing couldn't be found for Spikes in DeFuniak Springs.
