GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - The woman who staged her son's kidnapping
last week to cover up his death was charged with capital murder
Monday, the day the boy was buried.
25-year-old Shalinda Glass has been held without bond in the Etowah County jail since she was charged with hindering prosecution last Tuesday, when the body of five-year-old Geontae Glass was found in the trunk of her boyfriend's car.
District Attorney Jimmie Harp said the decision to charge Glass with capital murder was based partly on forensic evidence and prosecutors' and investigators' conclusion that this charge is "only appropriate," The Huntsville Times reported on its Web site.
Glass' boyfriend, 31-year-old Kevin Andre Towles, is also being held without bond on capital murder charges.
