Liquid Embroidery

A Hartford woman, who is diagnosed with two painful diseases, has decided she won't let her illness get her down.

Colene Mitchell is a resident at the Baptist Village retirement home.

Mitchell was born with cerebral palsy and later got news she had arthritis in all of her joints.

Normally confined to a wheel chair, Colene volunteers to cook for residents of the Baptist Village.

She also has another interesting hobby: for more than 20-years she's made embroidery out of liquid instead of thread.

The process can take days, but Colene says through pain she's motivated by being an example to others.
