Fort Rucker has announced the second major defense contract in a week.
The Army has awarded a contract for aviation simulation services to Computer Sciences Corporation of Falls Church, Virginia.
The company will conduct training in a real-time computerized battlefield to teach flight techniques to student helicopter pilots. The contract is worth up to $1.1 billion over nineteen-and-a-half years.
Last week, the Army announced a new provider of helicopter maintenance at Fort Rucker's six airfields. That contract is a joint venture involving five companies, including Ozark based U.S. Helicopter.
