Domestic violence will have no home in the Wiregrass, says safety leaders.
Sheriff and police departments from Henry and Houston Counties are teaming up with 20th Circuit Court officials to help respond and report domestic violence.
The leaders met Thursday with the district attorney's office and Montgomery Police Lieutenant, Steve Searcy, to learn how to gather evidence to help prosecute violators.
“We don't want to see them when they become homicide cases, we want to be proactive, reduce them, stop them, and deter them. That’s why were here today,” said Doug Valeska, who is a 20th Circuit District attorney.
Henry County Sheriff Elect Will Maddox said Thursday, “I want to learn all I can so we stop domestic violence before it gets worse.”
