JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Making holiday wreaths has landed a pair of DeLeon Springs residents in jail.
A man and woman were arrested yesterday after being accused of cutting roadside trees to make wreaths. They're accused of causing $230,000 worth of damage to roadside trees in the Jacksonville area.
A Florida Department of Transportation spokesman says at least 117 trees have been vandalized in the Jacksonville area since October.
The man and woman have been charged with criminal mischief in excess of one-thousand dollars. That's punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
