PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A nurse is expected to have a bond hearing Wednesday on charges in the death of a 14-year-old boy at a Panama City juvenile boot camp.

Kristin Schmidt turned herself in about 11 Tuesday night on charges of aggravated manslaughter. She and seven former guards were charged for the death of Martin Lee Anderson.

The seven guards have bonded out of jail on $25,000 bail. An arraignment was scheduled for mid-January and the defendants will be tried together. All charged face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the first-degree felony.

A videotape shows guards repeatedly striking the boy in an exercise yard at the boot camp. Schmidt is seen standing by, watching the altercation.

The guards say the boy had become uncooperative and refused to
do required exercises at the boot camp.

A lawyer for the boy's family says the video leaves no doubt that the guards are responsible for his death.
