Dothan's firework show will be bigger and better

Dothan's 4th of July firework show promises to be a big bang!

This year's 4th of July celebration will again be held at the Peanut Festival Fairgrounds, gates open at 10 am.

Continuous entertainment and festivities occur until the finale at dark.

This year events include multiple bands performing on two stages, a watermelon-eating contest, and waterslides.

New this year will be the addition of old fashioned family games at the family fun pavilion.

The event is presented by Kiwanis Club of Dothan.

Event coordinator Kerry Farrell said, “We have a huge show being put on by pyro technical, it's one of the largest firework companies in the united states and we have about a 15 minute show that their putting on at $12,000 show.”

Tickets are five dollars in advance, $10 dollars at the gate and for more information log onto www.family4thcelebration.com
