The day after thanksgiving is considered the biggest shopping day of the year for most retailers. People from all around the Wiregrass area drove into Dothan to take advantage of sales at many retail shops.

Some of the shoppers were waiting outside at 4:30 Friday morning to grab up the top deals of the day.

All this buying up is what retailers are depending on to reach their sales goals this year.

Most businesses are anticipating bringing in more revenue from sales Friday than during last years after thanksgiving sales.

“I think we have a lot more shoppers compared to last year and when we opened doors at five they were lined up at the doors,” said Dir. Lynne Dickerson of Wiregrass Commons Marketing

A lot of sales at the mall and other retail stores will continue throughout this weekend in case anyone didn't make it out Friday.
