ATLANTA (AP) - Members of the King family this morning will unveil the new crypt now shared by Coretta Scott King and Martin Luther King Junior.
Ten months after her death, Coretta Scott King has been laid in her final resting place next to her husband. The single crypt that had housed Martin Luther King Junior's body at the grounds of the King Center for Nonviolent Social change has been replaced by a larger one.
Coretta Scott King built center shortly after her husband's death. She later moved his body to the King Center, which is next to Ebenezer Baptist Church, where King preached.
Coretta Scott King's body was placed in a temporary crypt after she died January 30th at age 78 of complications from a stroke and ovarian cancer.
She was moved to the new crypt last week and the new grave site will open today.
