TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) - Police in Tuskegee are trying to solve a
gruesome case.

An officer in the east Alabama town found a dead baby boy in a
trash bag on the side of a road on Sunday.

Macon County Coroner Hal Bentley says the child was delivered
full term. But the cause of death is unknown. The body was taken to
a state laboratory for an autopsy.

The coroner says the body was inside a black trash bag that an
officer found lying on Clarke Avenue in Tuskegee. It's unclear how
long the bag had been there, or how long the baby boy had been
dead.

Bentley wouldn't speculate on whether the child may have been
stillborn, or if someone had disposed on an unwanted child.
