PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a car accident in Panama City that left two people dead and a restaurant with a lot of damage.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Bernabe Delgado and Raul Solorzano were in a pickup truck that smashed into the Pier 77 Seafood Restaurant early Sunday morning, which was closed at the time.
Both Delgado and Solorzano were pronounced dead at the scene. No
other injuries were reported.
Reports say their truck lost control in a curve, knocked over a
stop sign and a power line, then plowed through a fence and a large
roadside sign before slamming into the restaurant.
No word yet on what caused the crash. FHP says neither victim
was wearing a seat belt.
Crews are working today to repair the damage at the restaurant.
