Houston County Health Cuts

The Houston County Health Department expects cuts in a number of its programs since the tax plan wasn't approved.

This could affect some Houston County residents who get free life-saving medications.

Officials there say they'll probably have to stop offering free blood pressure medication to low-income residents.

And they say the Dothan branch of the state Public Health Laboratory may have to close.

That could mean longer waits for results on rabies, sexually transmitted diseases and even water testing.
