The city could soon charge Dothan residents to take out their trash if a new proposal goes through.
City officials released a comprehensive report on Dothan's solid waste management Tuesday.
The report recommends the city begin charging a monthly service fee of $10.76 for garbage pick up.
By comparison, Houston County residents currently pay $9.60 for the same service.
A proposal to reduce garbage pick-up to once per week instead of twice per week is also being considered.
City commissioners will vote on the recommendations in the next few weeks.
