Michael Harrison Murder Suspect Henry County 9/9/03

A Henry County man has been charged with two counts of capital murder after allegedly killing a couple during an argument over a camper trailer.

Twenty-seven-year-old Michael David Harrison is being held without bond on the charges.

Thirty-two-year-old Marvin Gillis and his 19-year-old wife, Tish, were apparently gunned down outside a mobile home on Henry County Road 97.

The murders were discovered around 8 p.m. Monday after the victims' truck, still towing the camper trailer, collided with a piece of road machinery on Faulkner Road Southwest of Headland.

Sheriff Lawton Ed Armstrong says Harrison had apparently loaded up the bodies and was headed to the home of a relative when the accident occurred.

The couple were newlyweds who recently moved to Henry County because they believed Florida was too violent.
