Authorities in Tuscaloosa County say they've uncovered few clues in the disappearance of 11-year-old Heaven "Shae" Ross of Northport.
The youngster mysteriously vanished on the morning of Aug. 19 between her home and a bus stop.
Northport Police Sgt. Kerry Card said so far no one has come forward with information on whether they saw anyone with Shea. But Card said investigators are following up on about a dozen tips after a bulletin was issued on the t-v show, America's Most Wanted. He said most of the tips are from out of state.
Controversy erupted after the girl's family criticized police for not issuing an AMBER Alert in the case. Police said the system wasn't activated because they must have evidence to prove that Shea was in danger or they are given a description of a kidnapper or vehicle.
Shae's photograph and information was added to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's Web site. The center said Shae is one of 18 missing children in Alabama.
