A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against a Northwest Florida man whose wife died in a fire. The lawsuit was filed in Holmes County Circuit Court.

In May 2002, Shirley Beagell died inside her Bonifay home. An exact cause to the fatal fire has not been given.

The 67-year-old victim's three daughters believe their stepfather, Ed Beagell, is responsible.

Although an exact dollar amount is not given, the suit states damages exceeding $15,000.

Beagell has not been arrested in the death of his wife, but authorities say the case remains under investigation.

A trial date for the lawsuit has not been set.
