One local school system is taking additional safety precautions due to these recent school shootings.

Daleville city schools sent a letter home to parents today stating they are working closely with the police department to ensure safety on its campuses.

Beginning Wednesday, parents will no longer be allowed to walk students down the hall to the classroom without an appointment.

Also, all students will be picked up and dropped off in the front of the school instead of side parking lots.

School officials will have all doors to the school locked during school hours to ensure all visitors go by the office before entering any hallways.
