Bald Eagle Shot

bald eagle

A reward is being offered for the arrest of whoever killed a bald eagle in Henry County.

The wounded bird was found on the shores of Lake Eufaula August 1st and taken to Birmingham for treatment, but the eagle died a few days later.

Wildlife officials say the eagle had been shot twice, probably weeks earlier, and left to die.

Crimestoppers is offering a reward for information in the case. And if you have information on the case, you are urged to call Crimestoppers at 334-793-7000.

State and federal charges could be filed, because the bald eagle is a protected species.
