Some aspiring journalism students were learning the in’s and out’s of the news business on Thursday.
High school journalism students from all over Alabama came to Troy University to learn techniques they can use to enhance their local school paper and yearbook.
The workshop featured area professionals’, ranging from print and broadcast journalism to public relations and advertising.
"I write for my local paper in Abbeville, the Abbeville Harold. I write sports articles for them. I have my deadlines, too. Coming here and seeing sports writers, it's really easy to understand what they're talking about, slang and everything," says Seth Michael, who is an Abbeville Christian Academy student.
This is an annual event hosted by Troy University's Hall School of Journalism.
