Tycoon's Balloon

American adventurer Steve Fossett is closer to completing his quest to become the first person to fly solo around the world in a balloon.

Fossett is 32,000 feet above the Indian Ocean, riding a jet stream at an "amazing speed" of almost 200 miles per hour.

Weather and equipment permitting, Fossett is expected to complete the trip as early as Tuesday, after two weeks in the air.

Fossett has one more weather feature to overcome. He's expected to fly through heavy clouds and perhaps even snow. But his flight center said hot air inside the balloon should keep snow or ice from collecting on it.
