Chemical Leaks

Two more chemical leaks in stored M55 rockets were discovered Tuesday in an igloo bunker at the Anniston Army Depot.

The rockets were secreting traces of GB nerve gas, according to a news released issued Wednesday by the Anniston Chemical Activity.

As with other damaged rockets previously found, employees will place the two munitions into larger individual containers and store them with other leaking rockets.

Officials said all leaking rockets will eventually be destroyed at the depot's chemical waste incinerator.

No injuries were reported, and the Army said there was no danger to depot employees or local residents.
