In Geneva County, there are between 600 and 700 delinquent accounts totaling $125,000 in late payments.
MDI of Brundidge is responsible for collecting fees from homeowners, but the county is responsible for enforcement.
If the fees remain uncollected, Geneva County Commission Chairman Harry Adkison is concerned that those who pay will be left picking up the slack.
Adkison hopes the commission will find ways to reduce the number of non-payers across the county.
