MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Siegelman was among several hundred people packed into Brown Chapel AME Church on Sunday when Holder spoke as part of Selma's annual Bridge Crossing Jubile.
Outside the church, several people carried signs saying "Free
Don." But Siegelman said he did not discuss the matter with the
attorney general. Siegelman said that was not his purpose in Selma.
Siegelman was convicted in federal court in 2006 on seven
government corruption charges. He received a seven-year sentence.
A federal appeals court on Friday threw out two of the convictions
and ordered Siegelman get a new sentencing hearing.
