Hyundai Motor Company is now considering a research and design center which would create about 300 jobs.
In today's edition of the Mobile Register, an official says that Alabama and Michigan are finalists for the $240 million project.
Hyundai Motor Company will decide within the next 60 days where to build the research and design center.
The center would make improvements to newly manufactured Hyundai vehicles.
Hyundai officials in Alabama said they were unaware of any plans by the automaker to build a research and design center.
