Newspaper Deliveryman Robbed

Authorities are also looking for a suspect who shot at police, following an armed robbery of a newspaper deliveryman in Geneva.

Geneva Police say drug activity has been a long time problem at the Riverside Heights Housing project. That problem turned almost deadly over the weekend.

At around 3 o'clock Saturday morning, a newspaper deliveryman was robbed in his vehicle at gunpoint. A man placed a pistol to the head of the victim and robbed him

Authorities then arrived, that's when someone opened fire at police. Fortunately, no one was hit.

Willie Cotes has lived in the neighborhood for a number of years, he believes it's out-of-town people causing the problems.

Police are expected to intensify their patrols of the Riverside Heights Housing complex.

Geneva Police are looking for leads in the robbery of the newspaper deliveryman and the shooting.

Those with information should call their nearest law enforcement agency.
