Houston County Sheriff Lamar Glover is refuting allegations he and his department are not actively serving traffic warrants.
The allegations stem from a letter written by Houston County District Court Judge, John Steensland.
Steensland says the sheriff's office has refused to serve thousands of traffic warrants in a timely fashion.
Sheriff Glover says his deputies serve warrants on a priority basis.
“There is priority. When someone is injured or property has been stolen, that's more important than a traffic case, and we can't serve them all, so we prioritize,” says Sheriff Lamar Glover.
Sheriff Glover also says he has a team of deputies who work full-time to serve warrants.
