A Northwest Florida man is recovering from injuries he sustained after a building collapsed in Dothan Wednesday.

The small shopping center near the intersection of Reeves Street and Ross Clark Circle is in the early stages of construction.

Workers told Dothan officials the walls had started sagging when they reported for work.

They were trying to fix it when one section gave way and started a chain reaction.

Two workers escaped injury, but Glen Powell of Panama City suffered a broken hip and leg after being trapped beneath some fallen lumber.

The Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified and will investigate the cause of the building collapse.
