The findings are in the 2006 ACCRA Cost of Living Index. It compares things like the cost of a house, groceries, gas and healthcare.
More than 300 cities across the country took part in the survey.
Housing in Dothan is 30 percent less than the national average, while healthcare is more than 20 percent less than the national average.
The most expensive place to live in Alabama is Montgomery.
