It's an issue that continues to gain attention across the Wiregrass and Northwest Florida -- stray and abandoned dogs roaming around.
At Wednesday's Holmes County Commission meeting, several residents of the Bethlehem Community described the health risks associated with allowing these animals to go about freely.
Joyce Ditto said two of her children have been bitten by "unchained" dogs that came onto her property.
She's looking for officials to enforce a leash law that's already on the books.
Holmes County doesn't have an animal shelter.
The commission is looking into contracting with a nearby facility to handle the stray animal problem.
