Several years ago, the federal government spent tens-of-millions of dollars to renourish Panama City Beach.
Offshore sand was pumped in to extend the shoreline. But, the sand also discolored "the world's most beautiful beaches."
This week, the Bay County Tourist Development Council agreed to fund a study to look at several ways to bring new luster to the gray sand.
The study's estimated price tag is $80,000.
