Inmates Transferred

Another group of Alabama inmates have been transferred out of state to relieve overcrowding.

Two chartered buses carrying 100 male prisoners left Kilby Correctional Facility in Mount Meigs Monday.

They were transported to the Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility in Tutwieler, Mississippi.

Correctional officials say they have no choice but to transfer the inmates.

The Alabama Prison System remains under federal and state court orders to relieve overcrowding.
