A shooting suspect, who managed to elude authorities for three days, is fighting extradition back to Alabama.
Guillermo Salazar was captured Wednesday in Holmes County, Florida, not far from the Alabama state line.
He is wanted on several felony assault warrants in Geneva County.
The arrest ended a three day manhunt that began after Salazar allegedly assaulted a woman, and opened fire with a pistol in the home of a Slocomb man.
Salazar tried to escape by running into a wooded area Monday night.
He was taken into custody late Wednesday afternoon following an intense search by tracking dogs and helicopters.
Salazar refused to waive extradition during a hearing Thursday morning in Bonifay. However, authorities say steps will be taken to bring him back to Alabama to answer to the charges against him.
