A Seminole County man is behind bars, charged with the murder of his neighbor.

Officials with the Seminole county sheriff’s office say 18 year-old Stevie Dustin Williamson was the man responsible for shooting and killing 70 year-old George Rutten.

On July 26th, Rutten was found dead inside his home, by a neighbor.

Authorities say Williamson lived in Rutten's neighborhood, and that he was attempting to rob his neighbor, when he pulled out a gun and shot him several times in the head.

Investigators say they questioned Williamson early on in the investigation, then tied him to the crime when they realized that his story wasn't making sense.

Sheriff Jerry Godby, of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office says, "From talking to him and some other people, they found out that there were some holes in his story and when they plugged those holes, they determined it was him and they arrested him."

Williamson is now charged with murder and could face up to life in prison or the death penalty if he's convicted.
