Wallace Community College is calling it quits, but only for a fundraising effort. Leaders have now reached their goal in their Campaign for Excellence.
Campaign leaders announced Wednesday that they have raised more than $ 4.3 million.
The money will be used to implement four initiatives in healthcare, workforce development and humanities.
“I'll continue activities in the community, being involved with key business leaders and telling the Wallace story and a lot of the activities that were related to the fundraising efforts,” said President Dr. Linda C. Young of Wallace Community College
Some of the money raised will also go toward the college's endowment fund.
