Several plots of marijuana have been found growing in two locations in Washington County.

They were found by investigators along with a law enforcement helicopter.

First, they uprooted more than 100 plants outside of Caryville.

Then they discovered 500 marijuana plants near the town of Wausau.

Washington County Sheriff Fred Peel says the recent rains, and hot, humid weather creates ideal conditions for Florida's number one illegal crop.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement statistics indicate that the panhandle leads the state in marijuana cultivation.
