The investigation is now complete into the alleged theft of $50,000 worth of automobile tags and decals from the Covington County Probate Judge's office.
Probate Judge Sherrie Phillips reports a roll containing 2,000 yearly decals was never actually missing.
It had to do with an inventory error from Montgomery that indicated discrepancies between her office and the state.
Some of the tags were issued out of sequence.
Initially several employees and courthouse cleaning personnel were questioned about the reported theft, but none were charged.
